I’m the wife of an amazing Mexican-American immigrant — together we walked through an Extreme Hardship immigration process that resulted in his Visa being issued after his interview in Cuidad Juarez. Our family is pictured on the right; my husband with his packet in hand. I’m also the mother of three beautiful, brilliant, and talented teenagers who have helped me learn how to be a good mom through trial, error, and developing parenting skills.

And as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who was once an MSW student feeling like an imposter and unsure whether I would ever become licensed, I understand the journey of growth, uncertainty, and transformation on a deeply personal level.

My own healing has unfolded through spirituality, meditation, and receiving Brainspotting, DBT Skills, and Attachment-based therapy.

I come from a background that includes both privilege and trauma.

Especially as the spouse of an immigrant and a descendant of immigrants myself.

I stepped away from governmental and school settings into private practice so I could treat people as they deserve — with respect, compassion, and the utmost care. This world is shaped by the transmission of trauma and adversity across generations, often reinforced by systems of oppression in the very organizations meant to help. I wanted to create a space where healing felt possible again. It is important to me to welcome people from all walks of life into my practice. Your religion, spirituality or lack thereof is welcome. Humans of any culture, age, gender, ability or sexual orientation are welcome. I strive to be an ally for marginalized populations, including immigrants and members of the LGBTQIA+ population.

I’ve been delighted to add clinical supervision to my practice because I value the ethical development of new therapists. Since our education and socialization as therapists is shaped by colonialism, we are often taught to pathologize, categorize, and judge the humans we serve. It is deeply important to me to guide developing clinicians in a way that is clinically astute, person-centered, and non-pathologizing. Watching them become the agents of change they were designed to be — often while navigating their own healing journeys — is one of my greatest joys.

I offer psychological evaluations in support of immigration cases because I highly value safety and justice. It is hard enough to migrate to a new country and build a new life. Legal obstacles to Residency and Citizenship add yet another barrier. Supporting people in their pursuit of a safer, more stable life is deeply meaningful to me.

I opened my practice to provide high-quality, person-centered, non-pathologizing care that honors the whole human.

Sometimes we succeed in many areas of life while continually struggling in another. Maybe you’ve achieved a lot at work and find your personal relationships are where things fall apart. Perhaps you compare yourself to others and feel as though you’re on an inferior level of humanity, or you’re ready to take your performance to the next level but find imposter syndrome holding you back.

You may recognize a tendency toward unhealthy relationship patterns, or wonder if you are too broken to ever find or forge a loving, lasting connection with a committed partner or spouse. Parents often come to me exhausted from power struggles, baffled by their child or teen’s behaviors, and worried about the impact of intergenerational trauma.

If you’re seeking a psychological evaluation, you may feel the anxiety and confusion that surround the immigration process — the need to provide evidence of invisible emotional wounds while working, raising a family, and navigating life in a new country.

And if you’re a developing therapist, you might be overwhelmed by juggling graduate school, client needs, documentation, BBS requirements, and your own healing, all while trying to find your voice.

What you want is transformation — freedom from the cycles that keep you stuck and a path toward a life that feels grounded, hopeful, and whole.

For many people, old patterns, painful emotions, and confusing relationship dynamics make everyday life feel heavier than it should.

Navigating life can be difficult while experiencing the effects of trauma or adversity.

Brainspotting Certification

I’ve survived early life trauma and tragedy and I’ve also received many blessings. I’m grateful to be on a life-long journey of healing and growth.

Beyond the credentials

I always begin with a free consultation via videoconference. This can be done via What’s App on your computer or smart phone. Next, I send forms to sign online and by mail. We’ll meet 3 times after the consultation. Payment is provided by bank or credit card. I ask for 50% of the fee at the time of our second appointment and 50% the day I send the final report to you and your legal professional.

What is the process for a psychological evaluation for immigration?

In our first consultation, we get to know each other via videoconference, explore how I may be able to help, and determine whether we’re a good fit to work together. If we decide to move forward, I’ll walk you through the next steps specific to the service you’re seeking, whether that's therapy, a Brainspotting Intensive, clinical supervision, or a psychological evaluation.

What can I expect in my initial consultation?

I’m not currently accepting new clients with insurance. The benefits of paying directly for therapy include keeping your records entirely confidential, ensuring greater security, allowing for fully customizable services not limited to a certain number of minutes or sessions and working with a therapist who has the time and energy to provide the top-notch care you deserve. I can provide a Super Bill, which may enable insurance reimbursement. If you’re looking for insurance-based or cost-free services, please don’t hesitate to reach out by email or text – I can likely refer you to one of the amazing developing therapists I work with.

Do you accept insurance?

Online therapy is not only effective but often preferable. Many clients appreciate the convenience and privacy of connecting with me from their home, vehicle, or a private outdoor location. My online therapy for kids is effective since I harness the power of the family system by including parents.

Is online therapy effective?

All services are offered exclusively online through secure videoconferencing, with the exception of Brainspotting Intensives. Intensives are offered online and in person in Far Northern California, and I occasionally offer group Intensives at specific locations.

Do you offer in-person or online services?

I work in Red Bluff and Redding, California — small towns in rural Northern California at the north end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountain ranges including Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen, with the Sacramento River running through. I see people throughout the state of California via secure videoconference.
